Unit 1: Roles and Responsibilities of a Supervisor

This unit introduces the core responsibilities of a supervisor and explores the Action-Centered Leadership model. It also covers essential planning techniques and how to set achievable goals for team success.

Unit 2: Role of Leadership in Supervision

Learners will understand the definition and evolution of leadership, including key historical models. The unit also explains the Situational Leadership Theory and how to adapt leadership styles based on team needs.

Unit 3: Effective Team Building Process

This unit outlines the importance of teamwork, including the pros and cons of working in teams. It also explains the five stages of team development and how supervisors can lead teams effectively.

Unit 4: Communication Skills for Supervisor

Learners will explore communication basics, barriers, and how to improve listening and questioning skills. The unit also focuses on employee motivation, onboarding, and delivering effective training.

Unit 5: Assessing Employee’s Performance and Managing Workplace

This unit teaches how to give and receive feedback, delegate tasks, and resolve workplace conflicts. It also provides tools for managing disciplinary issues and assessing employee performance through structured processes.

Completing the Professional Supervisor QLS Level 3 course opens the door to a variety of supervisory and management roles across multiple industries. Learners can pursue careers as team leaders, shift supervisors, department coordinators, or office managers. It also serves as a solid foundation for advancing into senior management positions such as operations manager, project leader, or human resources supervisor.
