Fashion Design Certificate

The level 3 Certificate in Fashion Design is divided into seven modules;

Unit 1: An Overview of Fashion Design

The first unit goes over the primary information for starters or first timers, explaining the basic terminologies and principles of design and the points to consider when designing.

Unit 2: The Fashion Forecasting Process

The second unit focuses on marketing in Fashion Designing. It teaches candidates about fashion forecasting, which is a very effective marketing strategy for fashion designers.

Unit 3: Elements of Art and Design

The third unit talks about the elements of design, their importance, how to organize these elements and to use them to help make designing easier. It also states the elements of art.

Unit 4: Key Design Principles

The fourth unit points out the basic principles of design, the significance of following these principles when designing and the link between the elements and principles of design.

Unit 5: Dress Designing & Color Selection

The fifth unit describes more techniques and skills in dress making, focusing on designing and color selection. It educates candidates about the principles of design and cloth construction and picking the right colors for the right design.

Unit 6: Choosing Fabric for Clothes

The sixth unit is a guide for how to identify and pick the perfect fabric to suit specific designs. It also explains the different terminologies, types of fabric, tips for buying fabric and trains candidates on picking the right type of fabric for the right type of clothes.

Unit 7: Basic Sewing Skills

The seventh and last unit in this level describes the sewing process and gives the basic sewing skills for beginners. It starts the practical parts of the course and coaches candidates on how to sew.

After completing this course, candidates are bound to get several job opportunities as they would have acquired the vital skill set that employers search for when hiring and would be earning an annual starting salary of $36,500. Those who require more skills in design can continue with the higher levels of this course.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
