Anchoring is essentially an alternative term for classical conditioning, which is specific to the field of neuro-linguistic programming. Anchors are created when a link is formed between an emotional state and the stimulus responsible for triggering it. The link being referred to as an anchor. Every time the stimulus occurs, the same emotional response is triggered.
