Public Relations Short Course

Public Relations is the planned, ethical, and transparent communication process organized by the top management to teach, reinforce, and influence a targeted audience. In PR planning, Research, Action Planning, Communicate, Evaluate (R.A.C.E.) are the four-step process executed to get desirable effects.

This public relations short course is an introduction to the concept of Public Relations. Over the course of three modules, it equips candidates with strong foundational skills in P.R. required to advance to a more skilled level or launch an exciting career.

An introduction to the basic definition of public relation is started with, then an in-depth look into the tools and procedures of P.R., which is the last unit of the course.

To enrol on our public relations short courses, there is no need for previous educational qualifications. The candidates are with the full aid and guidance of a tutor able to understand the concepts faster.

Course Syllabus

The course consists of the following three units. They include:

Unit 1: Public Relations: An Introduction

The first unit of the course gives an overview of public relations, the functions of P.R. such as task P.R. and management, how they go hand in hand and shape the image of a firm and how to see to the full actualization of the P.R.

Unit 2: P.R. Tools & Procedures

The second unit focuses on tools and procedures employed in effecting the desired results to a P.R. campaign. How these tools are maximized, and the procedures are perfected. The benefits of implementing these tools and following the procedures are also discussed.

Upon completion, candidates are well equipped to find entry-level roles in various firms. Entry-level workers go home with an average annual salary of £24,000, and there’s an increment as they gain more skills and experience.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievementfrom ABC Awards and Certa Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme.  This means that Certification for Professional Development (CPD) has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 1 Award against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.
