Consultation and Skin Analysis

Skin Analysis Consultation

Every beauty therapy treatment begins with a comprehensive skin analysis consultation.  In many instances, the treatments clients believe they need turn out to be entirely inappropriate.  It is the responsibility of the beauty therapist not to simply administer treatments blindly, but to instead advise, recommend and perform only the most appropriate treatments.  A skin analysis consultation may indicate that any number of treatments are wholly unsuitable for any given client.  Perhaps even harmful. Consultations help maximize the effectiveness of treatments, while at the same time minimising the likelihood of adverse side effects or allergic reactions.  For obvious reasons, confidence and competence on the part of the beauty therapist are of critical importance when carrying out skin analysis consultations.

This exclusive tutorial has been designed for existing and prospective beauty therapists alike.  Learn how to recognise different skin types, along with what to look for in a facial treatment and additional important skin characteristics.  Study a variety of facial products and their functions, including cleansing products, facial washes, makeup removers, toners, moisturisers, eye creams and many more besides.

  • Recognise some common skin types.
  • Describe structure and function of cleansers, moisturisers and exfoliants
