Level 5 Business Administration

Running a business requires proper planning and strategizing, it involves decision making and risks taking. The Level 5 Business Administration Diploma is the final level in business administration and on completion of this course, candidates will possess the required skill set to successfully run any type of business or work in many other posts in the business world.

The syllabus for this course consists of thirteen units, the first and second units are an introduction to business administration, explaining business environment and what it entails and stating the basic principles of business administration. Unit 12 explains how to manage and maintain team cooperation in an organization. Finally, the course rounds up with Unit 13 which is the final push for those candidates who want to start their own businesses, it gives different business ideas and the necessary information needed to start a business.

Course Syllabus

The level 5 Advanced Diploma in Business Administration includes thirteen units:

Unit 1: An Outline of Business Environment

This is the inception of the course. It goes deeper into business environments, teaching candidates about the determining factors, importance and the different types of business environments.

Unit 2: Basic Principles of Administration

This introduces candidates to business administration by explaining the basic principles used. It points out the significance of these principles and gets them started on management and effective leadership skills.

Unit 3: Human Resource Management

The third unit focuses on the human resource department in an organization and explains their roles, responsibilities and importance to the organization. It exposes candidates further to strategic planning and teaches how these strategies can positively influence the growth of the organization.

Unit 4: Managing Staff Performance

The fourth unit educates candidates on effective strategies to improve, manage, and maintain staff performance in an organization and it explains how excellent staff performance can increase the productivity and outcome of a business.

Unit 5: Managing Business Finances

This is an introduction to Business finances. It includes tips, resources and methods of keeping track of daily money management. It also gives tips on making financial decisions for a business. It is the ultimate guide to successfully manage business finances.

Unit 6: Managing Financial Resources

The sixth focuses on accounting. It defines financial resources of an organization, teaches how to monitor and control cash flow, and empowers candidates with proper financial management skills.

Unit 7: Effective Marketing Strategies

This is mainly about the marketing sector of business. It explains the marketing process, gives various marketing strategies and teaches how to build marketing strategies that will help attain business growth.

Unit 8: Business Communication - Report Writing

This unit teaches candidates one of the most important skills in business - proper and effective communication - and it focuses on report writing. Candidates will be taught extensively on how to write matchless business reports.

Unit 9: Strategies for Managing Time Stress & Crisis

The ninth unit explains time management, its importance, the basic techniques used and how it can reduce stress and promote productivity when done effectively. It also states the various stress factors and stress relief tools.

Unit 10: Managing Risks in the Workplace

The tenth unit lists out all the risks or hazards that can affect people in the work place and cause real harm. It teaches candidates how to control or manage and minimize or eliminate the possibilities of these various risks at work.

Unit 11: Building Client Relationships

The eleventh unit talks more about communication. It explains the importance of client relationship to the business, points out what kind of clients to keep relationships with, states the steps taken or methods or strategies to build and maintain client relationships.

Unit 12: Team Management Skills

The twelfth unit defines what a team is, explains the importance of having a full proof team for a business, teaches how to keep this team together, improve communication between members of this team, encourage communication and eliminate conflict.

Unit 13: How to Start a Small Business

As the final one, this unit teaches the candidates how to inject all the skills previously thought and knowledge gained into starting up and successfully running a small business. It points out the areas to consider when starting a business and different business ideas based on personal skill set.
