Unit 2: Principles of Hotel Front Office Operations

Unit 2 focuses on schooling candidates on tested principles that will help them manage guests from the point of arrival to departure. Basically, candidates will get a sense of strategies that will make them exceed customers' expectations and ultimately, increase patronage and sales.

Unit 3: Role of the Maintenance Departments in Hotels (Housekeeping, Engineering and Security Operations)

The functionality of the maintenance departments in the hotel will immensely affect the turnover of the hotel. Thus, in unit 3, candidates will delve into multiple roles such as hotel cleaning, timely run of appliances, the safety of lives and belongings, etc., played by the departments.

Unit 4: Hotel Food and Beverage Management

In this unit, candidates will be exposed to managing what to buy regarding food and drinks for the hotel, and how to buy it. In essence, they will learn how to professionally check for food and drink quality; while negotiating the best price for the hotel.

 

Unit 5: Hotel Industry: Human Resource Management

The strategic management of people to drive organisational goals is key to the human resource department. Hence, in this unit, candidates will be equipped with skills that will guide them in staffing, determining employee compensation and benefits, and defining/designing job roles for the hotel.

Unit 6: Hotel Marketing and Advertising Trends

In the final module of this course, candidates will learn the importance of leveraging advertising trends to outsmart competitors and gain considerable market share. They will also be taken through bespoke marketing concepts that attract prospective guests to the hotel.

With the knowledge acquired and the successful completion of the course, candidates will enjoy the great opportunities inherent in the hospitality sector.
