Course Overview

HR Management Course

Every establishment, whether small or large, cannot succeed without professional human resource management. The department of human resources has several important roles to play in the success of a business, from interviewing and hiring staff to addressing staff relations and instilling discipline in an organization.

This HR management course begins with a detailed explanation of the basic terminologies and features of human resource management and gives an outline of the recruitment process. Then it lists the importance of addressing employee relations and the benefits of a staff performance appraisal. It continues by stating the importance of providing training and development programs for the prosperity of the organization, explaining the significance of staff motivation and points out the strategies for managing and maintaining effective staff performance. The methods of enforcing equity and diversity among employees are also discussed along with the importance of the safety and welfare of the employees in an organization. Our Level 5 Human Resource Management Certificate ends with a description of absence and attendance management and the methods of handling grievance, discipline, termination and dismissal of employees.

Course Syllabus

This Advanced Human Resource Management Certificate contains eleven units:

Unit 1: Human Resource Management Introduction

A company cannot exist without human resources. Human resources is the term used to describe the employees of an organization and the department in charge of employee-related matters. This unit defines and lists several advantages of appropriate human resource management in an organization.

Unit 2: Develop and Implement Recruitment and Selection Strategies

Candidates are taught the expert selection and recruitment skills from this unit. It describes the process of finding, selecting and recruiting the right team members in each department, enumerates the qualities to look out for when hiring and explains how to determine the perfect time for recruitment in each department.

Unit 3: Employee Relations and Recognition

An effective employee relations program certifies that all employee needs are met and are recognized. This unit states the importance of having a comfortable and happy team of employees in an organization and the strategies of maintaining this comfortability.           

Unit 4: Appraising Employee Performance

Appraisal is the process of assessing or evaluating something or someone. The fourth unit of this course focuses on the performance appraisal process, stating its primary objectives, steps taken, types and significance.

Unit 5: The Importance of Training & Development in the Workplace

Research shows that companies that introduce training and development programs experienced an increase in sales in comparison to companies that did not. This unit outlines the process and benefits of training and development in an organization.

Unit 6: Performance Management of Workers

An essential skill to acquire as a part of the human resource management team is understanding and motivating the staff of an organization. This unit equips candidates with staff management skills that are required for the growth of a business.

Unit 7: Motivating and Rewarding Employees

The relevance of rewards in employee motivation and company growth is discussed in this unit. Candidates are made to understand the definition of employee motivation, its effects on company growth and the role rewards play in employee motivation.

Unit 8: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The eighth unit of this course discusses the many benefits of inclusion, equality and diversity in an organization. It also states the dangers of inequity and the methods of maintaining diversity in the workplace.

Unit 9: Health, Safety and Welfare of Employees

Risk assessments are executed in order to address the risks that may cause harm in the workplace. A safe and healthy work environment benefits the employer, the employees and the business. This unit describes the methods taken to maintain a hazard free environment.

Unit 10: Absence Management and Attendance

Unit 10 introduces and defines absence and attendance of workers in an organization. It states the effective strategies to improve employee attendance and the methods used to manage absences.

Unit 11: Handling Grievance, Discipline, Termination and Dismissal

This unit defines grievance, discipline, termination and dismissal and states their effects on employees and the organization. It also discusses firing employees and points out the most effective strategies for curbing grievance.

Career Path

Candidates who complete this level of the course are awarded a certificate of completion that qualifies them for a wide range of job opportunities with a starting salary of £25,000 and higher with experience.
