Unit 2 focuses on the effective management of front office operations. These include the reservation of guests, welcoming, registration, accurate records keeping. In addition, Unit 2 explains the roles of a front office manager in training other front office staff, staff scheduling and other duties.

Unit 3: Housekeeping, Security, and Engineering

The course further advances with a topic on Housekeeping, Security, and Engineering, which brings to light the functions of the housekeeping department in the effective functioning of the hotel. The importance of the security department and the strategies to employ in preventing and managing security threats are expounded. Candidates also undergo training in fire safety and in the development of contingency plans in effectively handling emergencies.

 Unit 4: Managing Food and Beverage Operations

The course concludes with a look at food and beverage operations’ best management practices. Candidates are exposed to Food sourcing, Menu planning, and budget management. The unit also touches on restaurant operations, table service, and other key food and beverage operations.
